Malindi Airport is a small airport serving the small coastal town of the same name. The airport is mainly used by tourists who want to see the beautiful white beaches of Kenya.

The airport was renovated with a new terminal in 2014 and the new terminal is a beautiful mix of classical Swahili architecture and modern materials.

Malindi Airport is a wonderful composition of different architectural forms and ideas. The inner court garden creates a small secluded space, in the middle of all the rush that airports and aeroplanes create. A place of rest.

The natural stone clad columns that hold the roof of the buildings is done in a very classical style. The arches, with their pointed tops, help to guide passengers through the building.

The airport is a masterpiece of design and an example for all small airports across the world of how to use local heritage and modern techniques.
